A friend sent this to me….and now I am posting for others to take. Please let me know what type flower you would be if you were growing in your garden.
“You are a tried and trusted friend who will be there for your friends when they need you. But you have a tendency to be nervous about doing things that go against the norm.”
I can’t see the whole going against the norm part as being a part of me but the first statement I would have to agree with that one.
I like petunias but was hoping for something a little more……you know. I may take it again and see what I come up with….Hope you have fun with this and don’t forget to tell me what kind of flower you would be in your garden.
For grins and giggles I took it again….this time I am a snap dragon.
“Mischief is your middle name, but your first is friend. You are quite the prankster that loves to make other people laugh.”
Now that is more like me….especially in college. I am one of those people who can pull of a prank and am the last person anyone would suspect….

Our family went out for dinner Monday night. As we were driving to our favorite Pizza place we passed a gas station. The price had dropped to $3.41/gallon compared to the other stations at $3.55/gallon.
My son said he hoped the rapture takes place before he learns to drive and has to pay for gas. He said by that time it might be up to ten dollars.
My daughter who is 14, said, “No! I don’t want the Lord to come back yet!” I looked at her and asked why she didn’t want to go to heaven yet. She replied that is wasn’t that she didn’t want to go she just didn’t want to go now.
Her desire is to live longer so that she can do more for the Glory of the Lord. She wants to do more for the Kingdom of God. She won’t say, “Lord, come quickly.”
I was so proud of her and it just tickled my heart to know that her goal is to be a servant to the Lord.
I have to wonder how many of us adults would sit back and say, “Lord, not yet please. I want to do more for you Glory and Honor. I want to do more to bring lost souls to You. I want to be used by You.”
Certainly makes one wonder…….Out of the mouths of babes.

(continued)
We had all gotten ready for bed. My sister went through turning off the lights. She won’t turn the tv off though. Maria was in the daybed. I was in the lazyboy, my mother on the couch with George the black lab and my sister was stretched out on another chair.
It wasn’t long before my sister and mother were sound asleep. I could tell this from the snoring. Maria and I stayed awake most of the night. I dozed off for about an hour. We kept up a vigil of praying off and on the whole night. There were two times that I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach. Apparently those times coincided with the times my sister felt the hair on her arms and neck stand up. It was very brief. When I felt like that I simply prayed. I knew we were protected and thanked God for His protection.
The night slipped into morning and my sister woke up. We went out and sat on the porch drinking coffee. It was 7am. It had rained all night and was still raining. We sat there and watched a cat stalk a squirrel. I was surprised that the cat actually caught the squirrel. It went off with some of its friends and they had their breakfast.

What I want to write about is not an easy topic to discuss. Some of you will scoff in disbelief.
A little background if you will……..
My sister cares for a 63 year old gentleman with Downs Syndrome. He moved here last October when his other family members who were caring for him passed away. He moved in with his sister-in-law and nephew.
The house is rather old. The original part of the house was built in 1709. The second part of the house was added in the 1800’s. There was an addition put on in the early 1900’s. The house is “noisy”. When the current owners bought the house, they began remodeling. It was then they found out their house was possessed. Finally the mother of the nephew stamped her foot and told the spirits in her house that this was her house now; they could live with her but she wasn’t leaving. They were invited to stay………
One day while my sister was in the house she was slapped in the face….she was by herself. She said if it hadn’t been for the red mark across her cheek; she wasn’t sure she would have even believed what just happened. The house has issues.
The guardian had to leave town for 10 days due to a business trip. He wanted my sister to stay at the house to watch the gentleman.
Night 1
She put her gentleman to bed. She sat up for awhile watching tv. She kept hearing noises, doors banging, drawers closing, what sounded like a tennis ball bouncing on the floor, voices, breathing in her ear and footsteps. She was told by the other care taker that she wouldn’t get any sleep during the night and she was better off leaving all the lights on along with the tv and radio. It would help drown out the noise. My sister cannot sleep with a light on but she did leave the tv on but very low. She got ready for bed, turned out the lights, and the whispering and breathing started right at her ear. She turned the tv up a little louder. She was awakened every hour and then at 4:30 am she was shaken. She just threw her hand up in the air and said,”It’s only 4:30. I have another hour and half. Wake me then and we can talk.”
This went on for the next three nights. Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore and called in one of our sisters. My husband was refusing to allow me to go unless I took a friend. Up to this point my sister was still thinking they were just ghosts. My husband and I have other ideas concerning what she was dealing with in that house. The other sister stayed with her from Thursday to Saturday.
The other sister went armed with her laptop, video camera and digital recorder. If she was going to stay there she was coming back with proof that our sister wasn’t crazy. As a Christian, I have my own belief on this and one of the things we wouldn’t do is go around and question what ever is there nor would I actively seek it out.
It took some explaining but we were able to explain to my sister that according to scripture, our souls go to one of two places when we die….heaven or hell. There is no hanging around. The devil is able to use his demons to present as familiar spirits. I know my sister is saved. She is not a strong Christian. What the rest of the world may not realize is how the devil uses this to muddy the waters. It pulls people away and draws them into other things and away from God.
They called us Thursday night. They played some of the recordings. These were not friendly family members. It only got worse as the week went by. Finally on Saturday when my sister took her gentleman home and got him ready for bed, I suggested she pray with him and over him. His room is….very active. He is not left alone. He constantly complains about how the voices won’t leave him alone and they are noisy. He is always tired when he gets up in the morning. After their prayer…..the night went down hill. It became so bad that my sister called in tears asking my husband to pray. I wasn’t home at the time. When I did arrive my husband informed me that I needed to call my sister immediately.

My daughter was the first to notice that our new bird Loki was……um….growing. At first I thought she was crazy but she is the Birdwhisperer. She has a knack with birds that is truly uncanny.
There are two parrots that put up with us. They both have us well trained. One being Maxi, a white fronted Amazon and the other is Loki, an African Timneh Grey. Both birds were given to us.
We knew Loki was young and still had some growing to do……but there is growing and there is growing.
Since my daughter was the first to notice Loki’s abnormal growth patterns, she wanted to be the one to tell his story. We took pictures periodically to show his growth. That was the evidence I needed to finally convince me that something was amiss with my little guy.
My husband, Capital G Geek, did some research on gigantism in animals. You may want to read his entry prior to viewing my daughter’s entry on Loki.
A picture truly is worth a thousand words in this case……..
