What I want to write about is not an easy topic to discuss. Some of you will scoff in disbelief.
A little background if you will……..
My sister cares for a 63 year old gentleman with Downs Syndrome. He moved here last October when his other family members who were caring for him passed away. He moved in with his sister-in-law and nephew.
The house is rather old. The original part of the house was built in 1709. The second part of the house was added in the 1800’s. There was an addition put on in the early 1900’s. The house is “noisy”. When the current owners bought the house, they began remodeling. It was then they found out their house was possessed. Finally the mother of the nephew stamped her foot and told the spirits in her house that this was her house now; they could live with her but she wasn’t leaving. They were invited to stay………
One day while my sister was in the house she was slapped in the face….she was by herself. She said if it hadn’t been for the red mark across her cheek; she wasn’t sure she would have even believed what just happened. The house has issues.
The guardian had to leave town for 10 days due to a business trip. He wanted my sister to stay at the house to watch the gentleman.
Night 1
She put her gentleman to bed. She sat up for awhile watching tv. She kept hearing noises, doors banging, drawers closing, what sounded like a tennis ball bouncing on the floor, voices, breathing in her ear and footsteps. She was told by the other care taker that she wouldn’t get any sleep during the night and she was better off leaving all the lights on along with the tv and radio. It would help drown out the noise. My sister cannot sleep with a light on but she did leave the tv on but very low. She got ready for bed, turned out the lights, and the whispering and breathing started right at her ear. She turned the tv up a little louder. She was awakened every hour and then at 4:30 am she was shaken. She just threw her hand up in the air and said,”It’s only 4:30. I have another hour and half. Wake me then and we can talk.”
This went on for the next three nights. Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore and called in one of our sisters. My husband was refusing to allow me to go unless I took a friend. Up to this point my sister was still thinking they were just ghosts. My husband and I have other ideas concerning what she was dealing with in that house. The other sister stayed with her from Thursday to Saturday.
The other sister went armed with her laptop, video camera and digital recorder. If she was going to stay there she was coming back with proof that our sister wasn’t crazy. As a Christian, I have my own belief on this and one of the things we wouldn’t do is go around and question what ever is there nor would I actively seek it out.
It took some explaining but we were able to explain to my sister that according to scripture, our souls go to one of two places when we die….heaven or hell. There is no hanging around. The devil is able to use his demons to present as familiar spirits. I know my sister is saved. She is not a strong Christian. What the rest of the world may not realize is how the devil uses this to muddy the waters. It pulls people away and draws them into other things and away from God.
They called us Thursday night. They played some of the recordings. These were not friendly family members. It only got worse as the week went by. Finally on Saturday when my sister took her gentleman home and got him ready for bed, I suggested she pray with him and over him. His room is….very active. He is not left alone. He constantly complains about how the voices won’t leave him alone and they are noisy. He is always tired when he gets up in the morning. After their prayer…..the night went down hill. It became so bad that my sister called in tears asking my husband to pray. I wasn’t home at the time. When I did arrive my husband informed me that I needed to call my sister immediately.
She told me that after they prayed for Peter, she was basically attacked. She was feeling stinging, crowded in upon, loud voices and the breathing in her ear. It was to the point she felt as if she was being suffocated. I sat with my husband and we prayed. I read 2 Thes 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.” and then we prayed for God to place a hedge of protection around them, send His angels to watch over and protect them. My sister said that as we prayed, she felt a warmth on the side of her face. Like that of a hand caressing her and she felt as if she was being patted on the back. Much like that of a parent comforting a child. She said she had such a sense of peace come over her that she got ready for bed and actually went to sleep. Our other sister couldn’t sleep. Our other sister showed up with her boyfriend and they spent the night with them. No one got any sleep but the one sister.
They retrieved the digital recorder from the gentleman’s room and listened to some of the recording. It was horrible. The ghost/demons didn’t like the praying. The voices that came through and what was being said would chill you.
They left the house Sunday morning. My sister called and said she didn’t know what to do. She had two more nights to go and everyone had to leave her. Even her gentleman doesn’t want to go back to that house. When my sister brings him home with her he says that is his house. He tells her he isn’t going back to the other house. He is like a 3-4 year old. A lot of what he says, he mumbles. When he wants you to know something he can be very stubborn and quite clear in what he wants you to know. Even he is able to understand that something isn’t right.
Up to this point my husband was still refusing to let me go and stay with my sister. He said I could go if I could find another spiritually mature Christian who had a clear understanding of what they were dealing with and what we could possibly face. I called my neighbor and spoke with her. She was willing to go. She understood my burden for my sister and her gentleman. My heart is really burdened for him. Especially after hearing what is being done in that house every night. He just knows that it is too noisy for him to sleep and “they” won’t be quiet.”
My husband said that I could go since Maria was going with me. I called my sister and told her that we would be staying the night. It is an hour drive from my house.
I told Maria what we had heard up to this point. I shared what was caught on the tape. The many voices telling my sister to “get out”, “you don’t belong here”, “you’re new”, the growling, the multiple voices talking in unison and the constant walking, the breathing and whispering in your ear. I heard some of this and it was evil.
We prayed and loaded up the van. We prayed on the way there. We prayed as we walked up to the front door. We prayed as we entered the house and continued to pray through out the night. We didn’t acknowledge the presence of anything in the house.
When we arrived, my mother and sister were sitting in the family room. I walked in and asked my sister how everything was doing. She had all ready warned me that our mother was planning on asking these demons/ghosts to bring our stepfather to her so she could talk to him. I told my mother if she as so much as uttered those words I would duc tape her mouth and carry her out of that house. My grandmother was a little more vocal. She called her daughter an idiot and couldn’t believe she would do something so stupid.
In case you are wondering….yes, I would have dragged my mother out of that house for even attempting something so dangerous.
My sister decided to show us some of the video they had captured. While we were looking I asked her if she was feeling or hearing anything since we had arrived.
She looked at me and said it was the strangest thing…..when we walked into the house she said it felt as if everything in the house had suddenly been pushed away or pushed back. There was nothing, not a peep, not a breadth, not a whisper, not a step, not a knock or tapping. She said up to the point we had walked into the house, she and my mother were hearing the knocking and everything that usually accompanied the nightly vigil these things did.
She gave us a brief tour of the house. Where we slept and where her gentleman sleeps is on opposite sides of the house. It was quiet. We sat for awhile and visited and then everyone started to get ready for bed. The four of us along with “George” the dog (who won’t go near the other side of the house) slept in the family room.
My husband says I have to stop here and come to bed. This will have to be continued tomorrow. I will tell you how our night went and what the nephew said when he got back in town.
Paul warns us that there is a spiritual warfare raging around us. This is not our home; we are here on borrowed time. Don’t doubt that there are demons around you, scripture tells us this. We are covered under the blood and it is the Word of God and the blood of Christ that keeps us and protects us. Even the Archangel Michael when fighting Satan for the bones of Moses used God’s word to defeat him. It isn’t through our power…but the power of God and His Word. Hide it in your heart be prepared by having the the whole armor of God on. We cannot fight in the flesh…it is only through the Holy Spirit that we have power and are protected. Just a few words before I am pulled off to bed……….Good night.

That is quite the story.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of the story.
I’ve experienced similar things and coming from a Christian family and being a Christian myself, I agree with what you did to start to get rid of them. People don’t believe that we are in a “Post-Christian Society” as my pastor put it. People are pushing God out left and right and my family and I believe that because of that (and because we possibly might be nearing end times) demons are picking up strength in this world. I think they are pissed that I am pushing so hard for my boyfriend to be a stronger Christian (he’s pretty new to it), that they attack me (physically sometimes), but I won’t back down. Frankly I’ve gotten somewhat used to it and know that if you rebuke them in the name of Jesus, they HAVE TO LEAVE! That is the one word that scares them to death and they have no power over! Jesus will protect us from evil as you said above. They may try, BUT THEY WONT WIN IN THE END!!! I have realized that my gift is discernment of spirits and I believe he is preparing me for something later on in life, as he is with others that have this same gift. Keep spreading the word, more people need to know that you are either on one side of the other and there is no turning back when you die. But Jesus is always on our side if you ask him to and trust in him! God Bless
