HOT CHOCOLATE RECIPE

  1. 4 oz. Instant Chcolate pudding mix (1 box)
  2. 1 1/2 cups Rich variety Coffee Creamer
  3. 1/2 cup Vanilla Coffee Creamer
  4. 1 1/2 cups (doesn’t need to be exactly level) Cocoa Powder (Dutch Processed is better)
  5. 3 cups powdered sugar
  6. 1 teaspoon salt ( I use finely ground sea salt)

Mix together and set aside………

  1. 5 cups powdered milk
  2. 1/3 cup granulated sugar

Mix together, and run thru a food processor to make a fine powder. If you do not have a food processor than pour the powdered milk mix thru a seive/wire type strainer so that you can press the larger granules into a finer powder. Powdered milk can be a small chunky type powder….doesn’t work as well in this state. Once this is done, add this to the other mixture and stir. Yields approximately 11 cups/36 servings of mix.
Depending on the mood I am in…I have been known to add cinnamon or cardamon, maybe a dash of cayenne pepper to the mix to give a little extra bite.

Store in an airtight container or ziploc style bags.

To Serve: Place 3-4 heaping Tablespoons into a mug and then stir in hot water.

Garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon or marshmallow cream/marshmallows (kids favorite way).

The whipped cream is better if you can make it fresh versus the can or store bought kind.

You may use the Hershey’s Cocoa…but if you are looking for a darker, richer chocolate use the Dutch Processed Cocoa….Ghiradelli is Dutch processed I believe…..

Another way to serve this cocoa is to brew a fresh pot of coffee….add the chocolate mix to your cup, pour coffee over stir and drink…..this is a nice mocha style drink.

You may also add Ghiradelli Chocolate chips to the powdered mix….this makes an extremely rich cup of hot cocoa….I cannot handle this….but I am also not the Chocoholic my Husband and Daughter are…..they have been known to nibble on the Baker’s Chocolate…….Now that is a die hard chocoholic.

I have also tried cinnamon chips(like chocolate chips), You are only limited by your own tastes.
