Distributing the Work Load……(Warning, Picture Heavy)

It was a gorgeous day!!!! We went from having 13-30 degree days to a 65 degree day. I dragged the kids outside and we were able to get the rest of the leaves raked up in the front yard. It is difficult to muster enthusiasm for leaf raking. I try to make it fun but there is only so much a person can do.

While raking we did stumble across a little surprise. We weren’t expecting to see this little guy so of course we had to take his mug shot.

He was hiding on this lid which was buried in leaves. We took pictures of the little guy then let him go.

As we raked and bagged, then moved on to the next pile of leaves….Herself would dutifully follow us with chair and book in hand. It made the work much more enjoyable. All though I did notice an occasional slowing down to make sure a word wasn’t missed.

Why is everyone standing around..? Come on…get back to work!!

Isn’t that just the look of pure excitement and joy at the thought of all those leaves being raked up for Mom? He just loves doing things for his Momma.

He smiled!!! See, I told you he loved helping his Momma…:-).

Okay…tossing time!!! Heave Ho!!!!

Herself didn’t want to be left out of all the fun of tossing those leaf packed bags. There was some dissent in the ranks that since she didn’t rake she shouldn’t get to have the fun of tossing. She did regale us with a tale reminiscent of King Arthur’s Court. She did drag her chair around the yard dutifully following us with book in hand. We did get caught up in the story of Bonnie, Billy, Ashley, Dr. Connor, the Professor and the evil Devin. She earned a bag to toss by suffering with a parched throat.

I just couldn’t take it anymore. I had to do it. Really I did. We finished raking leaves. Since Jerry’s large cheese pizzas are only $4.99 on Monday’s,

  1. I am glad to see that you have creatures too!!

Oh yes…and those are just the critters outside the house….they were looking for worms under the leaves to bring in and see if the parrots would eat them. I am so sorry but I had to nix that one!!!

  2. Love the photos, I”m so glad that you all had fun raking and listening. I do love that fact that the author stopped by to leave a note. What is the deal with the pumpkin?

I know…that was so cool the author left a note…:-). If you remember reading the post on what I was doing with all the boys clothes….the pumpkin is what was in Robbies room…since October. The lava lamp is always on so when you stand at the door and look in the lights coming through the holes sparkle and sort of block the pumpkin….LOL

  4. I had to scroll back to see the pumpkin. 😆

That is so cool that the author of the book you all had been reading/listening to stopped by to comment. That is a good way to pass the time while getting work accomplished.

    As for the critters…… 😛

  5. Kids, you all did a great job for Mom. Come and visit and we will let you rake all our leaves. I’m so proud of you. We love you so much and I hope you are doing well in school as well. I wish you lived closer. Grandma Ellen

  6. Thanks Ginger, You motivated me to pull out a book tonight and just read to the kids! They played with legos and I read….it was very pleasant and they can’t wait to finish the book!! 🙂

They love it when you do that. We used to do it when they were younger and they would sit there quietly working on legos or coloring. It is fun and they get rooked into the book.
