  1. I’ve never seen a dust storm. Is it the result of high winds before a rain blows in?

Yes, high winds with exposed soil. There is an elementary school being built on the top of the hill behind that set of houses at the end of the cul de sac. We had a very fast moving thunderstorm come thru with high winds. It was great to watch but when I went out to take the pictures I should have taken goggles and kept my mouth shut!!! That was good ole Virginia red clay blowing around.

  3. YIKES! You said “dust storm in the ‘burbs” … and I pictured what happens INSIDE my house (dust = my bane in life…). And then I saw your pictures. Whoa!

  6. Susan…if I took pictures of my butterfly cabinet right now…you would see the dust in the burbs in the house…LOL

Thanks for the comments….the windows were closed. We have horrible allergies up here. My son is bad so we have to keep them closed when the summer gets really hot.

  7. That is cool, but it is a really good thing your windows were shut! I get bad allergies too, but this year hasn’t been so bad.

  11. Cool pictures, Ginger!

How is your arm/wrist doing? I hope you are feeling better.

I like your plan for school. We considered the Video Text program but decided to go with Teaching Textbooks. We now have TT Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry. By the time K3 needs upper level math we will probably add in more of the program.

  12. Love the photos, I”m so glad you posted them for me to see. That is a whole lot of dust, and I would be so thankful for air right then.
